Susan Gallagher was named Chairman of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Corporate Board in June 2008. Mrs. Gallagher has been a member of the corporate board since 1994 and has held several roles including her most recent roles as Corporate Board Secretary, and Co-Chair, of the External Affairs committiee.
Susan Gallagher is Managing Director at Huron Consulting Group where she is responsible for driving growth nationally in the legal businesses at Huron. She is one of the 25 founding Managing Directors of the company. Susan is also responsible for creating and leading the company’s national civic and community service program called Huron Helping Hands.
From the company’s inception to September 2006 Susan served as the Head of Strategic Development and served on the company’s executive management team. She was responsible for building the strategic development function at Huron where she designed and implemented a marketing and sales program to support the fast growth of the business. Susan played a key role in developing the strategies to initiate and sustain relationships with clients and legal counsel and to develop and communicate Huron’s messages to its markets.
Prior to Huron, Susan was a partner at Arthur Andersen. She holds
a BBA, from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame Indiana and is
a Certified Public Accountant.
James G. Keane was appointed the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC) effective August 1, 2008.
Mr. Keane comes to BGCC from the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago where as Executive Vice President and General Counsel he was responsible for a number of areas, including housing, youth and teen leadership, crisis and gang intervention. He was also responsible for real estate transactions and legal affairs.
Prior to joining the YMCA, Keane spent over five years as Associate
General Counsel at Sears, Roebuck and Co. where he and his team
were responsible for all corporate and securities law matters, including
financial disclosures, corporate financings, corporate governance
matters, and investor and media relations. From 1996 to 1999, he
served in a variety of senior attorney roles at Sears. Before joining
Sears, Jim Keane worked as a Corporate and Securities Associate
at Schiff Hardin & Waite in Chicago.
Jim's began his professional career as a teacher of high school
English, economics and history at Loyola Academy in Wilmette and
the Latin School of Chicago. He earned a law degree from Northwestern
University School of Law in 1992 and an undergraduate degree from
Harvard in 1984.
