COVID-19 Preventative Measures

Due to the rapidly evolving health situation with COVID-19, and with the utmost concern for the safety and wellbeing of both our Club members and staff, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC) has made the decision to cancel all Club programming. Effective Friday, March 13, 2020, all BGCC Clubs will be closed until further notice.

As an organization, the welfare of our Club members remains our top priority. While the Club closures impact the youth and families we serve, we believe it is important to follow recommendations being made at the city and state level to take this difficult but needed measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

It is important to note that at this time, no one within the BGCC community has been diagnosed with COVID-19. We are taking these steps out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to protect the communities we serve. BGCC will continue to monitor recommendations from the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) along with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will post updates once Clubs are scheduled to re-open.

The safety of our children is our highest priority, and we appreciate your understanding as we take the steps necessary to ensure the wellbeing of our youth. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Manuel Batres, BGCC’s Director of Safety & Risk Management at 312-763-3873 or
