Step 1 of 8

  • What are Minor (under 18) Club Volunteers?

Minor Club Volunteers are volunteers who are under the age of 18 and are typically high school students. These volunteers support club staff with programs that work directly with the youth in one-to-one or group environments. Some of these programs include Power Hour or DIY STEM (homework help and academic programs), Triple Play (sports and health/fitness programs), Passport to Manhood or SMART Girls (healthy lifestyle programs), Torch & Keystone (character and leadership programs) and so much more in the areas of social recreation, computers, art, career exploration, etc. Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago needs volunteers who are able to commit to a regular weekly commitment for a minimum of 1-2 hours per week. A minimum time period of at least 4-6 months or a full school semester during the CPS school year is required. Volunteers will maintain a schedule during the week Monday-Friday and the greatest time of need for volunteers is between the immediate after school hours of 3:00-6:00 PM or as late as 8:00 PM depending on the club location. Please note the clubs are not regularly open on weekends.
