Club Market COVID-19 Response
Now more than ever, our Club families face even greater food insecurity and lack resources to fulfill basic needs exacerbated by the pandemic. Our Club members and their families are in need of accessible, essential and reliable food resources in their community not just today, but for the weeks and months ahead.
"The food and groceries available at the Club during this time has provided food on our table when we would have struggled to do so on our own."
- Parent of a Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Member
With families under increased economic stress due to COVID-19, facing reduced work hours and business closures, hunger is even more of an issue for families that are already struggling. When schools and after-school providers close or when they re-open in a limited capacity, it not only interrupts access to free meals for kids in need, it also impacts essential services from kids having a safe place to spend their day, academic success programs, healthy lifestyle programs, and leadership programs.

BGCC is committed to expand the food and grocery distribution programs through the Club Market. The Club Market will provide vital resources especially for low-income families who have less means to navigate the uncertainty that surrounds the re-opening of schools or after-school programs, unstable household income, high unemployment rates and food insecurity.
