Coat Drive Outfits Hundreds of Members Just in Time for Winter

In a city known for cold winters, few items are as important as a good coat. For many children we serve, their current coats are no match for the brutal cold, howling winds, and polar vortexes each winter.

However, this season, hundreds of children and teens across our Clubs had their winter wear upgraded thanks to “Gear Up for Winter,” a coat donation program from Cradles to Crayons.

Club members were thrilled with their new winter essentials:
“Thank you, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, for my winter coat!” – Jamie, age 9
“I’m so happy I got a new coat. My old coat was not very warm.” – Sean, age 10
“I hate winter because it’s so cold, but now I’ll be warm.” – Stevie, age 11
