One-Time Special Event Volunteers are volunteers who do not have the availability or flexibility in their schedule to become a Regular Club Volunteer but still want to get involved and volunteer with the Clubs as their schedule permits. These volunteers receive detailed volunteer opportunities on a monthly basis that share upcoming opportunities and how they can sign up to volunteer. Special events usually occur later on weeknights or weekends and in the past have included: Holiday parties around Valentine's Day, Halloween, etc, basketball, flag football, floor hockey or soccer tournaments, capstone events where volunteers can serve as speakers or session facilitators or additional club events where extra support with registration or youth engagement is needed. Applicants to become a One-Time Special Event Volunteer may have to complete some of the requirements listed below depending on the nature of the opportunity. 1. Criminal Background Check through Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago background check vendor. 2. Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System (CANTS) Form. 3. Illinois Mandated Reporter Online Training Requirements will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
