This month, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago launched a summer partnership with Truman College and its STEAMbassador program, where BGCC Club members explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) from college student mentors.
The six Clubs participating spend two weeks at Truman College teaming up with experts who specialize in STEAM subjects. Each session is focused on a new topic, such as designing 3-D objects, coding a robotic ball, or learning sports engineering.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago's Logan Square at Funston Club just wrapped the first session, and the kids were eager to explore their favorite subjects in their final session.
The remainder of the summer will see five more Clubs travel to Truman College and use its state-of-the-art equipment to learn new skills. To see more about what the Clubs experienced, click the video above!
